How It Works

AirTag Range and the Find My Network
AirTags use Bluetooth to communicate with nearby Apple devices, which anonymously relay the location back to you via Apple's Find My network. With hundreds of millions of Apple devices in use worldwide, coverage is excellent in most urban and suburban areas. If your pen is within Bluetooth range (roughly 10 metres), you can use Precision Finding with Ultra Wideband to pinpoint it to within centimetres.
Is It Safe to Use a Tracker on an Insulin Pen?
Yes. The AirTag and adapter attach to the exterior of the pen and do not interact with the insulin cartridge, needle, or dosing mechanism in any way. The adapter is designed to be non-intrusive and does not require any modification to the pen itself.
